Learn More About Charlotte Water’s Lead Reduction Program

Charlotte Water has embarked on a multi-year, comprehensive program to reduce any remaining lead service materials in the Charlotte area, following federal guidelines. The Lead and Copper Rule Revisions mandate that water utilities nationwide increase tap water testing, create a service line database to check for the presence of lead service pipes in water systems, and increase monitoring in elementary schools and daycares.
