New HUD Guidelines Discussed on WFAE
GCAA's Executive Director Ken Szymanski was one of three guests on this morning's edition of "Charlotte Talks" on local NPR radio station WFAE.
Joining Ken for the discussion with host Michael Tomsic were Bryan Greene (General Deputy Assistant Secretary for Fair Housing, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development) and Myra Clark (Executive Director, Center for Community Transitions, a Charlotte organization which helps ex-offenders find housing, employment and transition back into society)
The discussion was sparked by HUD's early April release of new guidance which warns landlords against the blanket banning of applicants with criminal records.
