Hope Program
Last week AANC reported several changes made to the NC HOPE program. These changes were aimed to expedite the award process, increase landlord participation, and increase efficiency. AANC met with representatives of the HOPE program to highlight changes that created unintended challenges and recommended more changes. Some recommendations are still under consideration, while others have been adopted and updated. Notably, the eviction prevention language has been updated and clarifies that accepting the award prevents eviction for nonpayment of rent.
