Ricardo Lawson

Ricardo Lawson is an accomplished professional with an impressive 11-year journey in the multifamily housing industry, marked by a dynamic evolution through various roles. Beginning as a Leasing Professional, Ricardo advanced through positions as Assistant Community Manager and Community Manager, ultimately thriving as a Senior Marketing Associate. His versatility and expertise are underscored by his extensive experience across diverse markets, including Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh, and Austin. A proud graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, Ricardo holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications (2014) and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA), reflecting his unwavering commitment to growth. His involvement with the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association (GCAA) spans numerous roles, including serving on the Outreach Committee, New Construction Bus Tour Committee, and as Co-Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee. These efforts have earned him both local and national accolades, such as completing the NAA Diversity Leadership Program in 2022 and the GCAA Leadership Lyceum in 2024. Additionally, Ricardo received the GCAA Education Foundation Scholarship in 2017 and earned his Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) designation in 2018. Driven by a deep commitment to creating positive change, Ricardo collaborates with local nonprofits and government organizations to make a meaningful impact in his community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for RAIN CLT, whose mission is to provide linkage to safe and affordable housing within the Charlotte metro area. Ricardo's exceptional leadership and contributions were honored with the prestigious Debbie Warren Leadership Award in December 2022, recognizing his transformative impact within Charlotte’s LGBTQIA+ community.
