Georgia Runoff Race Will Determine Balance of Power in US Senate

The November 3, 2020 US Senate election resulted in 50 GOP and 48 Democrat members.  Yesterday’s Georgia Senate runoff determines if the Senate results in a majority for the GOP or a tie between the GOP and Democrats. This is important because the Vice-President is the tie breaker in such cases. Results from yesterday’s Georgia Senate runoff races are 98% in.  Democrat Raphael Warnock has been declared winner defeating Republican Kelly Loeffler. According to news reports, Democrat Jon Ossoff is leading Republican David Perdue in the remaining critical race which will determine control of the Senate.
