How Charlotte Ranks for Affordability
According to a recent Charlotte Business Journal article, Charlotte when compared to the nation’s largest metros, is considered relatively affordable. The analysis was based on 2020 data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis' Regional Price Parity Index, so the significant inflation factor is not included in the data.
Of the nation's 100 largest metro areas, Charlotte ranked 29th for affordability with an index score of 94.581 — about 5.4% more affordable than the national benchmark.
