CORRECTION!  The NC Building Code Council Approves Valet Trash Collection Services – Your Government Affairs Fees at Work!
The information below serves as a correction/update to the information that was published in September 3, 2020 eblast.  

At its September 1, 2020 meeting, the NC Building Code Council approved to amend the 2018 NC Fire Code, Sections 202,304 and to add 304.4, 304.4, 304.4.3. What this means:

• All fire-retardant cans per the BCC’s specifications must be in place by January 1, 2021. 
  
• Valet trash providers and property management companies are required to follow policies and procedures related to the size, location, and placement of fire-retardant cans.  For a copy of the BCC’s adoption language in its agenda item D-1, click here.
