Gov. Roy Cooper Releases His Budget Priorities

Governor Cooper recently announced his budget priorities for FY 2022-2023 which expands the state's budget to $29.3B. His budget priorities, include expanding

• Rental assistance and energy bill assistance for low-income family renters and down-payment assistance for first-time homebuyers, law enforcement and first responders. § Supporting affordable housing initiatives, including adding $20M to the Housing Trust Fund

• Expanding public safety

• Expanding access to affordable and high-quality childcare to support families with young children
