South Carolina Legislative Session Begins
The South Carolina General Assembly convened last week for its annual legislative session that runs through the second week of May. Items likely to be considered include the state budget through the annual appropriations process, Savannah River Site (SRS) and American Rescue Plan Appropriations (ARPA) funding, Congressional re-districting, medical marijuana, and Certificate of Need, among others.
Also, candidate filing in South Carolina is scheduled to start March 16, with candidate filing opening for a State House seat. In addition, a primary election for a State Senate seat will be held.
