The GCAA will host a Candidate Mingle for Mecklenburg and Cabarrus County candidates running for office this fall. Candidates running for Congress, the North Carolina House of Representatives, the North Carolina Senate, and the Mecklenburg and Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners will be in attendance. GCAA members look forward to discussing industry issues such as the rising cost of insurance, barriers to development, and inflation. This event will allow GCAA members to determine which candidates support the multifamily industry.

One of the more pressing issues for local owner-operators is better efficiency in the Mecklenburg County Clerk of Court (COC) office for appeals and rent bond distributions. According to a study by the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts, the COC is short-staffed by 36 full-time positions. GCAA members and candidates plan to discuss this issue and various other multifamily topics at the mingle.
